Carports are usually structures that have a roof that are structurally supported but do not have four walls that fully enclose them. This results in the offer of an area that is somewhat protected from the elements but comes with the provision of natural ventilation. This unique combination of features has led to the recent uses of carports for a wide variety of uses in factories, industrial houses and small machine shops and other small business shops. Cheap carports are very attractive to shop owners because the investment is little, relatively speaking and the returns are high. In this post, we will discuss some of the applications that these cheap carports have found in industry.

Many small businesses receive their goods in wooden pallets and these wooden pallets are usually either stocked inside the building thereby occupying valuable floor space or are stored outside exposed to the elements. These wooden pallets are usually recyclable and some companies will buy them for a small price, provided they are in good condition. A cheap carport forms a very good solution for the storage of these wooden pallets, thereby freeing up valuable industrial or warehouse floor space.

Small hardware stores can use cheap carports for the storage of garden fertilizer, snow melting compounds such as ice-melts, garden mulch, potted plants for sale, lawn mowers, rakes and other garden tools and free up space inside the store for other items for sale. Businesses usually calculate dollars generated per square foot of space and by moving some of the items to the outside of the physical building by the employment of a cheap carport, the sales dollars generated per square foot will go up.

Small machine shops can store some of their raw materials outside in the shade of a cheap carport. For example, machining oils and machining coolants usually come in sealed fifty five gallon drums that do not leak. Instead of simply storing them outside without any protection, install a cheap carport and protect your investment. The same is applicable for machining chips generated as scrap. This scrap metal is recyclable and is usually picked up by scrap dealers who insist many times that there be no accumulation of snow on the barrels which are usually open top. A cheap carport can come to the rescue in this case too.

Of course the use of carports for providing protection from the elements for company vehicles some of which can be quite expensive goes without saying. Especially the car belonging to the owner could be pricey and protecting that investment by the use of a cheap carport is not a bad idea.
